Award for Enhancing Knowledge of the History of Clinical Chemistry

August 12, 2013

Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Larry Kricka, PhD, DPhil, is the recipient of the 2013 Carraway-Meites Award for "Enhancing Our Knowledge of the History of Clinical Chemistry" presented by the History Division of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry. The annual award recognizes individuals whose efforts have documented and described the origins, development, and impact of clinical chemistry on the practice of medicine.

Among Dr. Kricka's many contributions to the understanding of the history of clinical chemistry is the development of an online archive of clinical laboratory analyzers dating back to the 1950s for the AACC. Previously, Emeritus Professor Donald S. Young, MD, was the recipient of the award in 2007.
