Celebrating Lab Week 2017
April 24, 2017
Now in its 42nd year and sponsored by 16 national clinical laboratory organizations, Medical Laboratory Professionals Week or "Lab Week" provides a chance to show a deep appreciation of and gratitude for laboratory professionals. There are approximately 300,000 practitioners of clinical laboratory science in the United States. Since the development of this career group in the 1920s, the clinical laboratory science professional has played an increasingly vital role in the diagnosis and prevention of disease. Today, the clinical laboratorian is a key member of a health care team.
Many activities have been planned for Lab Week, including the popular Basket Raffle for Charities:
Tuesday 4/25 from 10:30 am to 2 pm, First Floor, PCAM
Wednesday 4/26 from 10:30 am to 2 pm, First Floor, PCAM
Thursday 4/27 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm, Ravdin Mezzanine
For a good way to start this year's Lab Week, the Department was the 1st place winner of the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Lab Week Photo Contest!
