Dr. David Roth, Simon Flexner Professor and Chair of the Department, was elected to serve as Secretary-Treasurer for the Association of Pathology Chairs (APC) for a three-year term beginning in July 2016 when he will succeed Dani Zander, MD, from the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine. As Secretary-Treasurer, he will join the Officers of the APC Council, which also consists of the President, President-Elect, and Immediate Past President. Responsibilities of the APC Secretary-Treasurer include maintenance of the records and archives of the Association as well as the annual operating budget. The Association of Pathology Chairs is a non-profit society which serves as the voice of academic departments of Pathology in the U.S. and Canada. The Association provides leadership and advocacy for the dynamic discipline of Pathology with the purpose of enabling academic departments to meet the demands of their three missions: medical education, research, and practice.
