Dr. Virginia LiVolsi Named 2014 ASCP Distinguished Pathology Educator

The Board of Directors of the American Society for Clinical Pathology has selected Virginia A. LiVolsi, MD, professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, to be the recipient of the 2014 ASCP H. P. Smith Award for Distinguished Pathology Educator. The ASCP considers the annual award, established in 1974, one of its highest honors and presents it to individuals who have had distinguished careers in pathology and laboratory medicine embracing education, research and administration, as well as service to organized pathology. The Board expressed its gratitude to Dr. LiVolsi and noted that the entire ASCP membership has greatly benefited from her many years of dedicated service. The formal presentation of Dr. LiVolsi's honor will be held during the Scientific General Session at the ASCP Annual Meeting, October 8-10, 2014, in Tampa, Florida.
