Dr. Carl June is Co-Recipient of the 2015 Paul Ehrlich Prize

Recently, the German Paul Ehrlich Foundation announced that Dr. Carl June from the University of Pennsylvania and Dr. James P. Allison from the MD Anderson Cancer Center will be co-recipients of the 2015 Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize for their groundbreaking contributions to the field of immunotherapy. 

The annual prize was inaugurated in 1952 in honor of the 1908 Nobel Prize winner Paul Ehrlich, who is considered the founder of modern chemotherapy against cancer. The 100,000 Euro prize is awarded each year to medical researchers worldwide who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of immunology, cancer research, hematology, microbiology, or chemotherapy. The award ceremony will be held on Paul Ehrlich's birthday on March 14, 2015 in Frankfurt.
