Faculty Expertise in Publications on Medical Education and WHO Atlas on Tumors

A new status report, published in Academic Medicine and co-authored by Dr. Malek Kamoun, on the state of laboratory medicine education in 2014 evaluates curricula, competency assessment, and barriers to teaching laboratory medicine at US medical schools. The report indicates that significant opportunities exist to improve laboratory medicine education, including in the proper use and interpretation of clinical laboratory testing.
Dr. Virginia LiVolsi was invited by the World Health Organization (WHO) to serve as lead author for three chapters on different thyroid tumors in the WHO atlas series on various tumors of different organs to be published in late 2016 or early 2017.
