2017 William Pepper Fellowship Award Recipient

Bryan Anthony Rea, MD, a fourth-year resident in the Combined Anatomic Pathology & Clinical Pathology Program, is the recipient of this year’s William Pepper Fellowship. This honorary award, established during the William Pepper Laboratory Centennial celebration in 1995 and bestowed by the Clinical Pathology faculty, recognizes the outstanding achievements of a resident or fellow in the Clinical Pathology Program, specifically acknowledging contributions to clinical service, teaching and research. The award consists of a framed certificate and a $1,000 stipend from a professional development fund for use in the upcoming academic fellowship year at Penn. Previous recipients have gone on to successful careers in academic pathology. Dr. Rea will continue his pathology training within the Department as a Surgical Pathology fellow starting July 1, 2017. He has also secured a Hematopathology Fellowship at The University of Pittsburgh, starting in July of 2018.
