Phlebotomy Services
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides both Inpatient and Outpatient Phlebotomy services.
Outpatient Laboratory Hours of Operation:
The following facilities are open for all outpatient laboratory tests and services at the times listed below. All patients have the ability to choose the most convenient location and times for testing. Lab appointments in advance are recommended for most locations. Some locations are by appointment only, while others accept walk-ins. Please note that hours and available services have changed and are subject to change in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. Online appointments can be made by logging into myPennMedicine.org, clicking on "Schedule Appt. or Lab Test" and then selecting "Lab Test Appointment" from the drop-down menu.

Inpatient Services at HUP:
Current routine blood collection rounds are as follows:
Sunday - Saturday, hourly rounds, 8am - 1am
Sunday - Saturday, morning blood collection, 2:30am - 7:00am
For all other times, place routine order or STAT blood collections as medically indicated. Stat blood and Blood Culture collection are available 24/7. Requests for Stats and Blood Culture collection must be paged to an in-patient phlebotomist at 215-812-1643.
