Kevin Alby, PhD, D(ABMM), Assistant Professor and Director of the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, was appointed as a member of the CLSI Expert Panel on Microbiology, effective January 1, 2018. The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute is a not-for-profit standards institution with a history of developing clinical and laboratory practices and promoting their use worldwide.  Standardization in the laboratory improves the quality and efficiency of testing, which ultimately improves patient care outcomes.
