The American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Directors has unanimously endorsed the recommendation that Zubair W. Baloch, MD, PhD, Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, be awarded the ASCP Mastership Designation. Established in 2007, the ASCP Mastership designation serves to honor those distinguished Society members who have made significant contributions, not only to the field of pathology and laboratory medicine but also to ASCP. Eligibility is based on years of ASCP membership, significant career accomplishments, and contributions to the Society and to the profession. The formal presentation of Dr. Baloch's Mastership will be held during the Scientific General Session at the ASCP Annual Meeting, October 8-10, 2014, in Tampa, Florida. Other department faculty members who have received the ASCP Mastership designation include Drs. John Brooks in 2012 and Virginia LiVolsi in 2007.
