Outstanding Lifetime Alumni Achievement Award Recipient for Pediatric Neuropathologist

Lucy Balian Rorke-Adams, MD, Clinical Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, is the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award from the Medical School at the University of Minnesota for her lifetime achievements in pediatric neuropathology. Dr. Rorke-Adams is an early expert on Shaken Baby Syndrome and has published 300 peer-reviewed papers, multiple chapters in textbooks, and two books. She is the recipient of numerous honors, including being elected President of the American Association of Neuropathology and that organization’s Bronze Plaque for Meritorious Contributions to Advancement in Neuropathology. The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia established a named faculty chair in pediatric neuropathology in her honor in 2010.
