Ultrapure Water Systems Installed in Stellar-Chance Research Laboratories
September 16, 2021
New "Water Genies" have been installed in the Stellar-Chance research labs of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. The Department invested in 16 Rephile/Mar-Cor units, four for each of the four floors, to sunset and replace the previous water system. The "Ultrapure" deionized water dispenser provides 18.2megaohm, LowTOC, bacteria-free, endotoxin-free, RNAs/DNAs-free, "High Purity" water, with one last final polish to bring it up to the levels of quality required by research demands.
Principal Investigators in the Stellar-Chance laboratories received on-site training from Regional Sales Manager Matthew Franz and President of Rephile/Mar-Cor, Pete Lucas. Attendees of the training were impressed by the units' precision, purity levels, and convenience. The units are self-contained with a relatively low maintenance. The Department's Pathology Centralized Resources (PCR) staff, under the supervision of PCR Technical Director Olga Ortiz, will monitor the units during their regular interactions with the labs, and the team plans to survey the full user group in a few months.
