ACC Sarcoma Program Pilot Grant Recipients

Two Department members were among those selected for the three pilot grants of $50,000 offered by the Sarcoma Program at the Abramson Cancer Center to study research areas related to sarcoma. David Roth, MD, PhD, along with co-investigator Nicola Mason, PhD, from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, received the grant for the study "‘Exploiting Comparative Genetics to Identify Genetic Drivers that may Provide Therapeutic Targets for Angiosarcoma." Margaret Chou, PhD, will investigate "Functions of a Novel PAX3 Fusion in Sarcomagenesis." The ACC pilot grants are intended to stimulate cross-disciplinary interest in identifying new knowledge related to sarcoma as part of a multidisciplinary approach to this rare cancer.
