Summary
Penn Pathology and Laboratory Medicine investigators Daniel Ricklin, PhD, John Lambris, PhD, and Zhuoer Lin, PhD, provide experimental evidence that protein tags on the surface of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH) erythrocytes bind with a complement receptor called CR3 after the complement system is activated and mark these blood cells for recycling. Their research was published in Blood.
