Dr. Carl June is included as one of the 100 of biotechnology's "leading lights" in a list compiled by Scientific American in its 7th annual issue of Worldview: A Global Biotechnology Perspective. The list features the 100 most influential people in the field of biotechnology based on a survey of biotechnology and biosciences leaders who nominated living experts from industry, academia, and other areas worldwide.

Dr. June's cancer immunotherapy research was also highlighted recently in Wall Street Journal opinion column by Sean Parker, co-founder of Napster and founding president of Facebook, on philanthropy and "hacker culture."
