Julianne Qualtieri, MD, Joins Department

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine welcomes Julianne Qualtieri, MD, as Assistant Professor and Medical Director of the Clinical Flow Cytometry Lab in the Division of Hematopathology.

Dr. Julianne Qualtieri obtained her Doctor of Medicine at Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.  She completed her Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center before her hematopathology fellowship training at the Wexner Medical Center of the Ohio State University.  She joins the Department from the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where she was an Assistant Professor since 2012. Dr. Qualtieri has held numerous administrative roles as the CLIA Laboratory Director as well as the Technical Director of the Flow Cytometry Lab and the Hematology and Coagulation Lab of the UC Health Clinical Laboratory. She is an active member of numerous organizations such as the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, American Society for Clinical Pathology, College of American Pathologists, International Clinical Cytometry Society, American Society for Hematology, and Society for Hematopathology. Notably she has been recognized for her leadership potential as she has participated in the Association of Pathology Chairs organized Pathology Leadership Academy in July 2016.

Dr. Qualtieri will oversee the activities of the Clinical Flow Cytometry Lab, which is responsible for the assessment of immunophenotyping of hematologic disorders including leukemias and lymphomas. She will provide strategic oversight and lead the Clinical Flow Cytometry Lab in the delivery of state-of-the-art technologies for the evaluation of hematologic disorders. As a member of the Division of Hematopathology, Dr. Qualtieri will participate in clinical diagnostic services.
