PGY-4 Fang Bian, MD, PhD received the USCAP Foundation Pathologist-in-Training Travel Award. This award provides support for trainees who are first authors of abstracts accepted for presentation at USCAP's annual meeting. It reflects USCAP Foundation's commitment to advancing education, mentorship, and professional development for emerging leaders in the field. Dr. Bian will present her poster at the Annual Meeting in March in San Antonio, TX. | |

Spain-based BBVA Foundation has awarded the Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Biology and Biomedicine to CAR T cell therapy pioneer Carl June, MD for his revolutionary work in developing the personalized immunotherapy for cancer, which has given fresh hope to thousands of patients with blood cancers worldwide. Dr. June shares the award—which is given annually to recognize and reward world-class research and comes with a prize of 400,000 euros—with Michel Sadelain, MD, PhD, of Columbia University. Dr. June and entrepreneur Jeff Marrazzo were named "Disruptors of the Year" by The Philadelphia Citizen for their roles in launching Dispatch Biotherapeutics. The Philadelphia-based startup is focused on developing a new, universal approach to try to treat any cancer using immunotherapy. |

Bruce L. Levine, PhD has received the prestigious Genome Valley Excellence Award for his outstanding contributions to cell and gene therapy, engineered T cells, and cancer immunotherapy. Dr. Levine received the award at this year's Bio Asia, Asia’s largest annual global biotechnology and life sciences forum. |

Donald L. Siegel, PhD, MD will receive the 2026 Emily Colley Memorial Award from the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB) at this year's AABB annual meeting. This award recognizes Dr. Siegel's extraordinary career and field-advancing research, along with his dedicated mentorship of generations of leaders in blood and biotherapies, many of whom have gone on to make significant contributions of their own. He will accept the award at the AABB Annual Meeting in October. |

Congratulations to the Penn Presbyterian Pathology and Laboratory Medicine team for winning the Golden Turkey Award!! The award is given for collecting the most frozen turkeys during PPMC's Thanksgiving Food Drive. In all, 291 turkeys were donated to Chosen 300.
